Very sad news.

I met him some years ago and he was very nice and let me play two of his Conde, blond and black so we could discuss what we thought about them.
I thought he was a very simple straightforward man with a good disposition.

I remember his early playing very well.
He played with Paco de Lucía on some records and people used to say: who accompanied who?

Another great master of the Flamenco guitar who passed away much too early! I first heard of Enrique de Melchor when listening to a record, where he and his father took turns accompanying Antonio Mairena on various soleas and siguiriyas. I used to listen to this record again and again to learn the compas and understand the relationship between toque and cante.
