FOR SALE – RARE SIGNED 1970 MANUEL CONTRERAS FLAMENCO GUITAR

Postby Prominent Critic » 28 Nov 2009, 19:46

A rare gem for a player or collector. I am the original owner of this guitar, which I bought directly from Manuel Contreras in 1970. Spruce top – cypress back and sides – ebony fingerboard – rosewood headstock veneer – machine tuners – clear golpeadores – 650/52 – signed label. This guitar has never been repaired, refinished, or modified, and remains in its original condition, and in its original case. I performed for twenty years exclusively on this guitar, and it has been played by Mario Escudero, Sabicas, and Vicente Gomez. I have now settled down to teaching flamenco and classical guitar, and I would like to find a good home for this beautiful instrument, made by one of the greatest luthiers of the twentieth century. It has matured over forty years, and now has a voice that no new guitar can ever have.

I am offering it for sale for $6,950, and will give genuine consideration to all offers. Interested parties are invited to see and play this guitar, by appointment, and/or to bring an expert to examine it, or a guitarist to play and assess it. The guitar can be seen in Westchester County, New York, thirty minutes north of Manhattan. Photos can be seen at the following link -

Tomas –
How does that internet conferencing thing work? I never heard of it, but then, I'm tech challenged.

Hola Ramón
The idea is explained in the thread started by Sam in casa flamenca called “Broadcast your flamenco live”.
Like you I find the technical things difficult. I think the idea is not so new.
For some years people who have computers know how to attach a little camera to the computer that is called web cam.
In this way their contacts can see them and hear them. But it is not recorded so after it is finished there is nothing left.
