handmade Culpepper blanca - $1700 reduced! SOLD!

Postby deteresa » 03 Aug 2011, 12:46

Hey everybody,
I made this guitar in February of this year. It was traded back to me and shows almost no signs of playing. The original owner liked it a lot but got curious about my newer guitars. It's a 1a with Spanish Cypress back and sides, spruce top. Handmade rosette, French polished, Schaller tuners.
It sounds and plays beautifully, great volume, and hasn't really been broken in at all yet. Comes with hard case and 3 saddles for changing action height. Shipping in a hard case is included within the lower 48. I have a one week return policy.
The guitar is based off a Barbero design and sounds great for traditional Flamenco and dance accompaniment.
Here is a little video and I may make some more sound samples soon:

Andy, That is a fine sounding traditional flamenco. Seems to have a great response and nice edge on the basses and still nice trebles. I would think it should go quick for $2000. It would make anyone a nice guitar and a great alternate guitar for a professional that didn't want to take an expensive guitar into a risky situation. It sounds and looks expensive and seems to play well.

That guitar also sounds good to me. Unless there is a physical issue that isn't obvious in the video, I agree that it shouldn't be difficult to sell at that price.

I'm dropping the price on this to $1700. I have a 7 day return period in which you can return the guitar if you don't like it.
It's a pretty sweet deal if I do say so myself.

Sweet? More like ridiculous, but I understand about wanting to sell it. I don't know if it is the economy or just that interest in flamenco is diminishing, but it seems difficult to sell a used fine handmade flamenco for a reasonable price anymore. Many beginners want a Spanish made thinking that is better and will pay up to $2000 for a new factory made before getting a used USA luthier made. Anyone getting this guitar for $1700 is getting a bargain.

Thanks Sam. I have had a ton of interest from European buyers but shipping and import costs are usually prohibitive.
For anyone in the states, you won't regret this. :)
