Pedro Maldonado Flamenco Guitar

Postby Tortajada » 06 Sep 2008, 05:19

This is a cedar cypress blanca from 2001, model is a 1a, top of the line (his 1a flamencos are now called F1).
Its one of the best guitars you can get, it has a more unique tone than others in its range. Personally I like guitars by Maldonado, Plazuelo, F. Barba, J. Gonzalez and Marvis and think they're all different sounding but just as great as each other. I recently got a cedar Marvi so will sell this cedar top. It will sound more like a Conde with a better tone. Has deep growly basses and clear open trebles that ring out like a bell. Very refined guitar for the money. This is one of the reasons many concert artists like Armik, Eliot Fisk etc. have all bought Maldonados instruments.
The condition is excellent, one lacquer check on the top but actually no scratches elsewhere.
660 scale, action is incredibly easy at 3mm both sides with plenty of room for adjusting higher or lower. Works great for both classical and flamenco repetoire although it has the perfect growl suitable for flamenco playing.
This models sells for $7500 new, $5500 used usually. Selling for 4500, but will offer better deal here on the forum.

no reason for cedar.....I LOove Spruce too. Theres something in spruce that i havent been able to hear in cedar as of yet. But cedar is to me the best all around wood. Its more immediate and loud with that warm feel. But if I get another flamenco i'll do spruce cypress since I have another cedar already.
