Drive to Lugo's Music and get a Navarro Student Flamenco for about $750. That's usually Jerry's price when you call or email him.

New and awesome flamenca at budget price.

I will second the motion; Navarro guitars are excellent value for money. One caution: keep it well humidified, I've had 3 Navarros and all cracked due to the climate shift, going from the Paracho rainforest to the Utah desert.

Thanks Guys! However Santa Paula is a bit far from me :(

What do you guys think about Cordoba 45FM? I found out that they are quite easier to find around here in the Metro.

IMHO, the Navarro guitars are better. Find some way to get up there. ;) Call Jerry to make sure he'll be in the shop.

Careful about the Manuel Rodriguez. I'm sure that you read Pepe Vergara's posts on Delcamp.net regarding buzzing? I played a C3F. What I got was a lot of bad string buzz and I certainly wasn't trying to do rajo.

Ignore the Made In Spain snobs. When it comes to entry-level instruments in the Americas, its either guitarras Japones or guitarras Mexicanas.

i don't know. i've played it and thought it sounded really nice. it only buzzed when played hard. and not out of control buzzing. it buzzed just like any other low action guitar would. but the buzz was controlled and was only apparent on the attack of the note. i had friends listening and nobody mentioned any buzzing. maybe the one you played wasn't tuned up to pitch. the yamaha is nice too. i've played both of them back to back. the yamaha sounds to me, like it's between an all out flamenco and classical. i thought it wasn't much of a step up from my classical turned flamenco guitar. the c3f sounded more like an authentic spanish guitar. the attack was stronger, it was brighter, had more bite. maybe these guitars are highly inconsistent. the weird thing was that it had no golpeadore. so you would need to get that installed. or maybe just the one i played didn't have it. on the other hand, it had tusq nut and saddle and the yamaha had plastic. so if i got the yamaha, i would have had to replace the saddle with something denser and lowered it because it was too high. the c3f had a thin, low bridge. it also had that spanish foot. i believe both these things contributed to overall sound. either way, i was not fully satisfied with either of these guitars. i'll have to shop around more before i decide on one guitar.
