Does anyone like Ukuleles?

Postby Stephen Faulk » 21 May 2011, 04:42

I'm making a negra right now, but I'm also doing a concert uke for someone else - gave me an idea, I'm going to make a tenor uke in the shape of a baroque guitar next. You know, for just the hell of it.

Not a Uke fan myself, but that is a real beauty and great use of tonewood that might be to small for a guitar. I am fascinated with small guitars like Tresillo. Have you ever built any?

I like ukes, and I especially appreciate the fun that uke players have. There seems to be a surge in availability of handmade ukes in the last while, no doubt due to the increase in the number of players.

I've got a commercial tenor. I love the look of yours. Very nice.

Oh thanks, They are just a fun thing to do on the side. Plenty of shops making really nice ones cheap, I usually make them for friends.

I'd love to hear one of your ukes. Please post a clip if you can.
