I know my guitar was made by Manuel Contreras, because I spent an afternoon in his workshop discussing construction details and other things with him. It is true that he mostly made classical guitars and personally made very few flamencos. He told me that most of the flamenco guitars sold at his Calle de la Cruz and Calle Mayor, 80 (Madrid) shops with Contreras labels were student models made by outside makers.

He personally signed "Manuel G. Contreras" diagonally across the labels put on the highest-quality guitars that he made. His lower-quality guitars have the same labels without his signature.

Peter Tsiorba has been an active member of the Old School Flamenco group for some time. During that time he has contributed valuable information about guitar making and repairs, and there have been a number of posts from members related to him and his fine guitars. Because of all that, there is no need for him to introduce himself to the group in this new Guitarrerors Flamencos forum.

This discussion thread about my visit with him was started before we had a special place to discuss guitar makers and their guitars, so I have moved it here to this new forum.
