Now making guitars

Postby deteresa » 02 Aug 2010, 22:33

Hi everybody,
I've made a few posts here before as a player, but I have recently started making guitars professionally.
I make classical and Flamenco but my true love is Flamenco of course. I love the challenge of taking off weight here and there, and coaxing a true Flamenco sound out of the woods.
My blancas are traditional, fat and woody sounding with a great bark in the basses.
In a negra I like a more bright and trebly sound, not boomy.

Anyway here is my website if anybody's interested in my guitars:

I am sure everyone will be interested in hearing audio samples if you have some to post.

I would also like to listen but my computer does not have the correct elements to hear it.
Is it possible to have it in another format?

Thanks Ram!

Hi Tomás, I guess I can upload them here.. Just out of curiosity, does your computer have RealPlayer on it? I might put both formats on the site if some people have that and not Quicktime.

Lots of people have uninstalled Quicktime because of security vulnerabilities the developers seem unwilling to fix. Lots of people no longer use RealPlayer for the same reason. MP3 files are best because they can be played by nearly all media players. Why not upload MP3 files to the forum so we can listen with the forum MP3 player?

Interesting what you say about quicktime and realplayer, I'll try to figure out some other way to get mp3s up on the site...
Anyhow let's see if I can upload here

After uploading an mp3 music file to the forum it is necessary to click the "Place inline" button to embed the forum media player. I just edited your post and did that for you.

Your guitar and your playing sound very nice. What woods were used to construct that guitar?

Ah OK, thanks Bob.
That guitar has a Euro spruce top and Canadian cypress back and sides.
I'm just about to finish a guitar that I made with same tonewoods, design, bracing, brace wood, tentalones, rate of top graduation, bridge weight etc. except the top on this one is Western Red Cedar. So everything is the same except the top wood. I wanted to do as controlled an experiment as possible on the difference between cedar and spruce. So I will record the two side by side and post the results here when I'm done :D
