This month marks one year this forum has been online. Thanks to all of you for its success. Thanks to Bob for the long hours and expense it required to put it together and keep it running successfully. Although the forum does not experience heavy posting, we are visited by many as a flamenco library. I know of 3 college students in the last year that did papers for their music classes on flamenco and used our forum for information. Our quiet times remind me of the silent counts so important in flamenco. I call it sacred silence. The brief silence has an effect that no notes can replace. Perhaps this silence gives us time to reflect and absorb. Perhaps our silence is because our members are experiencing hard times or maybe even duende, both relevant to flamenco. Unfortunately most times it is because we just get to busy with life to enjoy flamenco. I am looking forward to another year of interesting discussions and hearing from all of you.

I would like to add my thanks to everyone involved in making this forum a success, but especially to Sam who has done the most to keep it active.

Of course, some silence also is no doubt due to time being spent playing and enjoying the flamenco that we all love instead of posting. Whatever the reasons, thanks to all those who participate when they can.
