I am returning to flamenco after many decades. I played in college, bought a Hernandez y Aquado blanca from Carlos Montoya in 1960 (made in l959 and inscribed to him, "especial para C. Montoya"; if anyone knows where this guitar is, please contact) . I eventually gave up flamenco and the guitar while living in the flamenco black hole of Tennessee. But, I'm back now two years and love it. I had left it, but it did not leave me. Jack

Hi and welcome;
I noticed your Pavan on the other thread. Montoya's guitar and a Pavan! What a range of experience!

Thanks for the welcome Byron. The Montoya Hernandez y Aquado was the only real flamenco guitar I ever owned until recently. I have two Pavans, blanca and negra, and am most impressed with them in sound and workmanship. But, I have many high end guitars now including a G. Canin blanca which should be delivered next week. I enjoy the different voices of all of them. Jack

I've been curious about the Pavans for a few years. People speak highly of them. I've never seen or heard one "in person" but I'm looking forward to my first encounter.
