Oi! In Brazil, where I live, flamenco is very popular, but I was born in England and am of the 1950s Old School of Flamenco. My first guitar was antique, my next was Swedish and the third was a Raimundo flamenco from Valencia. My Canadian grandson is playing this one very well. My interest is in the flamenco guitar as a solo instrument and acompaniment to cante. Unfortunately, I have had few singers to accompany in my travels and in Brazil visiting flamenco artists are rare. There are some local amateurs with a lot of enthusiasm, and a few who have trained in Spain. I continue to play my best guitar: Ramírez III Flamenco 1ª built in 1969 by Ignacio Manzano Rozas and enjoy videos and CDs and DVDs of the Old School. As guitars rank in my experience, my Ramírez cedar/cypress is the easiest to play and the most musical. I bought a new Pedro de Miguel 2 years ago, and though it is beautiful, there is no comparison in sound or ease of playing. I find your forum interesting and a worthy replacement for GLI`s Flamenco Forum which died!
