For those who may not know, Agustin Rios y Amaya , one of the guitar-playing nephews of Diego del Gastor is the son of Diego's late sister Teresa.
He had a brother Pepe Rios, now dead, who was a well-known dancer with a studio in Sevilla (There bits and pieces of him dancing on Youtube
Agustin matured as a player during the Golden Period in Moron where locally Diego's brother-in-law Joselero lived and sang. Also local to the town at the time was Joslelero's son Andorrano, a great festero. You can see some of his baile in the abile of young Pepe Torres, his nephew , and member of Son de la Frontera
At that time too there were many fiestas with Fernanda and Bernarda El Perrate, Juan Talega. After a bit, the Gazpacho and other festivales started providing work for Agustin
Agustin married and eventually moved to California. Sadly, I think, his now isolation from the Andalucian flamenco scene keep his name from being as well known as that of his cousins. Added to that, of course, was is refusal to take on a name that would tie him to Diego without even having to hear him
Of course, when you hear him the tie between he and Diego is made up of all six strings
