I think it is unfortunate that most flamenco enthusiast are focused on guitar and mainly technique. Cepero is known by most as a solo guitarist and mostly for his modern stuff. This is sad because Cepero is a brilliant accompanist with his own distinct style that has melody and beautiful musicality as well as impressive technique. I think this Bulerias with La Perla and Cepero is exceptional. How did flamenco survive before the cajon and electric basses? Seems to me the palmas and La Perla with her table worked quite well. Now singers stand with a mic in fancy clothes and the percussion is left up to instruments that don't work well with flamenco in my opinion.
