Solea por Bulerias

Postby SamC » 15 Jun 2009, 12:02

Solea por Bulerias is a combining of phrasing of both Solea and Buleria. It is not a faster Solea or a slower Buleria. The speed is somewhere in between. It has it's own character and dynamics. The compas is the same as a Bulerias starting on 12 and a Solea por Buleria can end with a section of pure Bulerias.

Posted by Leo87 .... Can anyone post or direct me to some tabs for a simple solea por bulerias compas with common remates. maybe a simple falsetta or two. thanks!

Juan Martins book Solo Flamencos 42 Solos, page 118, track 36 on CD, has a Solea por Bulerias that might be of interest. Also this video might be a good basic start.

Leo, Another good Solea por Bulerias is Juan Serrano's "Dos Colores" found on page 86 of "King of Flamenco" solo collection book with CD. It is 5 minutes, but has some nice falsetas that might appeal to you.

Thanks Sam!

I really like the feel of this palo. Once I learn a little something, I'll try to post a recording. I have a new guitar coming! :D

Sam,
That's a very beautiful solea por bulerias. Characteristic are the strong accents on the 3, 10, and 12. Also, I find quite interesting the occasional off-beat accents in the accompaniment in this "old school" example.
