Can anyone name this luthier?

Postby Prominent Critic » 24 Dec 2009, 16:26

I cannot quite make out the headstock in this video. It looks like it may be a Manuel Reyes, but I just can't see it clearly enough.Does anyone know which luthier made the guitar he's playing in this video? It sounds fantastic.

Email old Hubit and ask him. He usually responds in a few days. Nice guy and extremely talented guitarist. I am guessing a Felix Bayon since he is friends with him.

Best way would be to send a message on utube. He checks there frequently.

Thanks Sam. As I suspected, it is a Manuel Reyes. I had posted the wrong video - the one below is where you can hear better how great this guitar sounds. I think both videos are a Manuel Reyes guitar - in the Siguiriyas below it has pegs, and in the Tientos it has machine tuners. I didn't notice that at first because they both sound so good and with a similar sound that I assumed it was the same guitar and didn't look too closely.

El payo Humberto, has a website, he is from Holland but lives for a year or so in Mineapolis, I played his Reyes, a terrific guitar!
