Cejillas

Postby SamC » 01 Apr 2010, 11:47

Cejilla making seems to interest many flamenco guitar players. Not difficult and can be a rewarding experience. My biggest problem with traditional cejillas is the fishing line and leather method that seems to dent cedar necks regardless of how they are made. Tony Arnold uses a larger nylon cord that doesn't harm even the softer cedar necks and looks great. I would like to see discussion on making cejillas. I was thinking about making some for fun, but didn't want to invest in a 1/8-1/4 size peg hole reamer and peg shape tool. I was thinking about making one using a cam similar to the maple cam luthier clamp.

Both these cejillas look great.
I have a few but Ialways use the Jim Dunlop simple black plastic because it is no problem for left hand chords.
But thanks for photos anyway.
