cocobolo

Hello everyone,

I recently completed this negra, made with cocobolo back and sides, and european spruce:

I happened to be making two negras almost side by side: this one with cocobolo, and another one with Brazilian rosewood. Both are beautiful tonewoods. They are like two Latin cousins!

Your work is beautiful, but the sound and response are phenomenal. Best negra I have ever heard. The new caretaker is a fabulous player and the combination is any luthiers dream. The basses on this instrument are just unbelievable, but the trebles still sings sweetly without any hint of damping that is many times seen in guitars with good bass response. The transition from low to high is perfect and achieving this balance is noteworthy. Ole!
