La Aire, super light flamenco blanca

Postby Peter Tsiorba » 19 Apr 2010, 23:46

Hello friends,

Let's lighten-up a little. Quite a bit, actually. How about 2/3 of the typical weight? That's what I did with this guitar--La Aire. She is a massive 1002 g. light and packs a lot of sound into its delicate frame.

Amazing tone and I don't hear any disturbing overtones. It has the "maple" sound that I like. What is the weight of La Pedro? Also how much thinner are the woods on this one compared to La Pedro? Looks and sounds like a successful experiment. Now time will tell how it holds up, but I am guessing it will age gracefully.

I just added Peter Tsiorba's new La Aire, Super Light Flamenco Blanca to the guitar weight bar chart previously posted in another discussion thread.

Peter, I was wondering how much mine, La Pedro" weighed or if you had weighed it? I don't have a very accurate way of weighing it. The woods are similar so I am guessing basically the thickness of the woods is the difference in weight, plus a few grams on the pegs over the mechanical pegs.

Sam,

I did not weigh yours, but can venture to guess that it is around 1150--1200 grams (40.57--42.3 oz.)

I was able to weigh it accurately this morning and it is 1249 grams. Perfect weight and balance for my taste.
