Paracho luthiers in the news

I came across this video on Al Jazeera news. It seems that luthiers are rarely "important enough" to be in the news. Paracho is an exception, however, as the entire industry of the town is based around the guitar:

Yes, the border drug wars have gone to the interior. Drug gangs are now using some of the guitar makers to ship drugs with guitar sales to the USA. They either cooperate or suffer violence. Very sad indeed.
