Techniques: llamadas, cierres etc

Postby TomasJimenez » 26 Dec 2010, 17:20

Hola Amigos
I have added a video to my YouTube page. It is a free lesson that I made.

I made it for one of my students and it is examples of remate, llamada, subida, ida, cierre for Soleares, Bulerías, Tientos y Tangos and Alegrías.
The student took a lesson on Skype so then I made this movie to go over what we studied in the Skype lesson.
I hope you find it useful. At about 4 minutes I make a mistake. I talk about the singer leaving and returning to the stage but in fact I mean the dancer.
I find it very difficult to play the guitar or work well when recording with camera or sound but I hope it could be of some use.
Saludos cordiales

Excellent Tomas! I don't know much about accompanying singers or dancers so this video was very helpful. I doubt I will ever accompany a dancer or singer, but the information is always useful for solo playing.

That's the best combined look at all of the variations that I've ever seen.

Thanks very much.

Thanks Thomás.
The video made me realize I was missing some important elements in my solea. A proper cierres.

Hola Amigos
Thank you so much for taking a moment to comment. It is good to feel useful.
Manos: I hope it is and when I really learn technology I will invite you to one of María José dance classes set up online so you can play along with us all.

Payul: Good to know the compas sounds ok and shows the value of accompanying dance if at all possible. By the way when are we going to see some of your beautiful playing erm Granaína maybe, maybe (hint hint!!)

Lucas Byron ecwriter: I am very glad to be of help. Oh Ed a cierre can be great but I always suggest to my students that we can be free in flamenco and make our own choices. Good to know that they are and then to take or leave as we prefer.
These YouTube examples are what I record for my students who take Skype lessons as a way of supporting what they have done so I will add more occasionally. I just added a falseta from Almoraíma today.

Anyway as I say great to feel of use and if I don’t do any more just now have a great New Year ( Año Nuevo) everyone.
