Alegrías for baile

Alegrías for Baile

Hola Amigos:

Ok this is possibly the worst example of written music ever produced!!!

I wanted to do an experiment and see if I could upload something and yes I can.

Ok so here is the explanation of the piece:

A) Reason: To provide a very simple example of a way to accompany por alegrías in an elementary flamenco dance class.

B) Analysis of each line of music:

Line one: You can see that line one is divided in two bars each of one compás of 12.

The last compás ends at the beginning of line two of the music. Sorry! My bad writing!

So all that has happened is that I have shown two typical ways to choose the sequence of the chords for playing for the marcaje. You can use these over and over. The second also works well for a llamada. The end of the second is written incorrectly for beats 7, 8 and 9.

Would anyone like to explain my mistake in my writing?!

The line two starts with the simplest way I could annotate a section of the baile usually called escobilla.

You see the first pattern 2-4-2; ok it is the bass melody; you would normally accompany each one of these bass notes with an arpeggio which is simply with the appropriate chord.

Who can fill it in for me and tell us the correct chord for each pattern up to the end of line two?

All of the rest the music is sometimes called the silencio. It is the part when the dancer dances without the singer singing and with the music slow and almost always in the minor key.

Typically guitarists have liked to play picado in this case and yes I agree it sounds better and is more beautiful- If a guitarist is comfortable playing the silencio with falsetas with picado then that is great. Paco Peña does it magnificently on Art of Flamenco.
But in this case I am thinking of beginner flamenco dance students and of my student guitarist who play for them. So I have attempted to produce something extremely simple and hopefully clear and with the compás and in accordance with the wishes of the dance teacher.

Well, I hope that this could have been interesting and I look forward to the improvements!

Saludos cordiales

I rotated the image of Tomás' "Alegrias for Baile" cifra 90-degrees and attached it as zip file for those who would like to be able to view it in normal orientation.
