Flamenco Dance Videos

Postby SamC » 03 Sep 2008, 12:57

Utube has some interesting videos on flamenco dance. I find these helpful in correcting compas for guitar. This reminds me of my first and only flamenco guitar lessons where the teacher demonstrated and taught me palmas for Soleares. His theory ... palmas must be learned before toque.

Yes, YouTube has some great videos of flamenco dancing. Some awful ones too, but you have to seek out the good stuff. There is a knockout old black and white video of Antonio Gades doing a fabulous Farruca, when he must have been in his early twenties. Then there is another one in color of him doing a Farruca when he is older. It's pretty dark, but you will never see Farruca danced better.
